ULTIMATE TOP DOG – Stock Dog Masters
Stock Dog Masters – This class is for points used to determine the Top 15 Dogs of the Year. It will also count towards Hall of Fame recognition. The stock work will be on an Advanced Level, with the course at each trial designed by that trial’s course director. It is open to all working stock dogs, but handlers need to be mindful of the level of difficulty and their individual dog’s training level. The class can be held on sheep/goats, cattle or ducks/geese. The points are earned for each individual class. A dog is welcome to participate on all 3 types of stock to earn the points from each. There will be added money in addition to the jackpotted entry fees for this class.
COURSE: The course will be designed by the trial’s Course Director. The course will be sent to UDP Inc 45 days before the trial.
COURSE SPECIFICATIONS:
The course size minimum is 400’ x 400’ for sheep/goats or cattle and 75’ x 100’ for ducks/geese. It can be larger. Actual dimensions will depend upon the breeds running the course.
COURSE DESIGN:
1. The course will start with a minimum of a 300’ outrun on sheep/goats or cattle and 30’ for ducks/geese, lift and fetch to and around the handler’s post. The handler can move a maximum of 2 feet from the handler post.
2. There will be a maximum of 1 obstacle on the fence line.
3. There will be either a handler’s post or handler’s line; depending on the course design.
4. There will be a Free Standing Center Pen at the end of the run. The dog and handler may not enter the Free Standing Center area.
5. There will be a minimum of 5 obstacles, not including the outrun and repen.

SCORING: To earn a qualifying score, all obstacles must be completed in the time limit set by the course director. Minimum time limit will be 15 minutes.
HANDLER RULES: All rules set forth in the Stock Dog Arena Program and the Farm and Ranch Chore program, hold true for this class.
The handler should determine in advance if his/her dog is capable of successfully handling stock on the said course.
